Job summary

HCA Florida Ocala Hospital in Ocala, FL is seeking a Hospital Laboratory Supervisor to lead technical and non-technical staff, oversee laboratory operations, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. You will develop quality monitoring systems, manage resources, coach staff, and participate in hiring for the department, contributing to accurate patient care and timely test results.

The role requires an Associate Degree, Florida Supervisor’s License, and 3+ years of Medical Technologist

Qualifications

2-year Associate Degree in Science or Medical Technology is required.
4-year Bachelor Degree in Medical Technology is helpful.
State of Florida Supervisor’s License OR ability to obtain one during interview.
3 years’ experience as a Medical Technologist.
Prior supervisory experience is beneficial.
Licensure in 3 technical specialties is preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervise technical and/or non-technical laboratory personnel and assign areas/shifts.
Supervise and/or participate in processes, service levels, and regulatory compliance.
Develop monitoring systems for collection, documentation and reporting of quality assessment data and initiate corrective actions.
Concurrently monitor resource utilization including payroll, supplies and expenses, and reports.
Provide leadership in coaching, guidance, training, and talent development of staff.
Screen, interview and select qualified individuals for open positions within the department.
