Job summary

Aspen Hills Senior Living is seeking a dependable cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. You will prepare meals, follow menus, and ensure proper portioning and sanitation in a long-term care setting.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 1 year cooking in care facilities, and a ServSafe certificate. Pleasant presentation of meals and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• ServSafe Certificate required.
• Experience as a cook in hospital or long-term care facility for at least 1 year preferred.
• Ability to read and follow technical procedures and recipes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare tasteful meals and cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Follow prepared menus and portion control guides; maintain food temperatures.
• Prepare pureed foods and assist with serving meals.
• Supervise in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
• Report resident care concerns to Administrator/Director of Nurses; participate in training of dietary staff.
