Spearfish Canyon Healthcare is seeking a Cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. You will prepare meals, follow menus, and maintain sanitary standards for residents.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and hospital/long-term care kitchen experience, with ServSafe certification preferred. You may supervise dietary staff in the supervisor’s absence and must ensure dietary needs are accurately met.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long‑term care facility (≥1 year).
• Ability to read technical procedures and follow recipes.
• Ability to prepare special diets accurately and record temperatures.

Responsabilités

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare meals in large quantities and follow menus and portion control guides.
• Prepare pureed foods and special diets as needed.
• Assist with serving meals and report resident care concerns as required.
• Supervise dietary staff in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
