Mount Carmel, part of Trinity Health, is seeking a full-time cook to prepare meals for patients, the cafeteria, and catering services. You will follow recipes, maintain food safety standards, and collaborate with dietitians and staff to ensure timely, accurate food service.

The role requires operating in a high-volume hospital kitchen, lifting heavy items, and adhering to dress and hygiene standards. Day shift work with competitive benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or 1-year equivalent experience with commercial production food service.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, and simple multiplication.
• Must read, write, and speak English.
• Food handlers’ certification within 6 months of hire.
• Experience in hospital or large institution or commercial kitchen preferred.

Responsabilités

• Obtains ingredients from storage areas for recipes when necessary.
• Responsible for lifting and carrying medium to heavy food and equipment.
• Plans cooking schedule with supervisor/dietitian to ensure food is ready at specified times.
• Confers with dietitians regarding modified diet preparation and use of reviews menu and special orders.
• All other duties as assigned.
