Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Cook to join our hospital food service team. The successful candidate will prepare, serve, and forecast menu items according to recipes and production methods, ensuring quality and consistent presentation for service periods.

This role requires working every other weekend and holiday, standing/walking long periods, and effective communication in English. Prior cooking experience in a hospital or restaurant is preferred, with on-the-job training

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• On-the-job training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all foods according to recipes and production methods.
• Ensures foods are ready for service in proper amounts, quality, and presentation.
• Maintains proper serving temperatures and merchandises foods to best enhance quality.
• Ensures recipes are followed and portions are correct for service.
• Reviews menus with staff and communicates changes in time for action.
• Assists with general sanitation of the food service area and keeps work area clean.
