Job summary

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician at 38410 Aurora St. Lukes Medical Center - Pharmacy in Milwaukee. The role supports licensed pharmacists in preparation, labeling, and distribution of medications, with emphasis on accuracy and compliance.

The position requires on-site work, 40 hours per week, and 1st shift duties. Responsibilities include inventory control, sterile/nonsterile compounding where applicable, and patient data entry.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Registration or licensure with state board of pharmacy.
• CPhT or ExCPT certification within 18 months from start date.

Responsibilities

• Assists licensed pharmacist in technical duties related to preparation and distribution of medications.
• Accurately selects, prepares, and labels medications including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
• Assists with medication distribution tasks.
• Screens phone calls and routes as needed using proper telephone etiquette.
• Assists in daily pharmacy procurement, inventory control, and outdate checking.
• Prepare documentation for removing, stocking, and wasting controlled substances as applicable.
• Perform nonsterile compounding following USP standards where applicable.
• Perform sterile IV admixture using aseptic technique where applicable.
• Inspect medication storage areas for policy adherence.
• Complete medication admission histories and data entry for record keeping.
