Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPhT or ExCPT certification must be obtained within 18 months from start date.
• No prior work experience required is acceptable.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Assists licensed pharmacist in technical duties related to preparation and distribution of medications.
• Accurately selects, prepares, and labels medications for patients including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
• Assists with medication distribution tasks and screens phone calls for routing.
• Maintains inventory control and performs outdate checks to support operations.
• Completes documentation for removal, stocking, and wasting controlled substances as applicable.
• Performs nonsterile compounding per USP standards and sterile IV admixture where applicable.
• Ensures proper storage policies across medication storage areas and checks patient admission histories in the system.
• Participates in training pharmacy technicians and extenders as needed.
