Job summary

Southcoast Health is seeking a skilled HVAC Mechanic to perform routine predictive and preventive maintenance on HVAC/R systems across our facilities. The role includes renovations, installations, troubleshooting, calibration, and inventory management to ensure reliable climate control for patient care areas.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, with an associate degree preferred, and hold a Massachusetts Refrigeration Technician License along with Universal Refrigerant

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in Refrigeration/Air Conditioning Heating preferred.
• Massachusetts Refrigeration Technician License and Universal Refrigerant Recovery Certification required.
• Related experience required to demonstrate ability to operate and maintain typical HVAC and Refrigeration Equipment Systems.
• Two (2) years experience in a hospital or industrial environment with knowledge in the maintenance and repair of centrifugal chillers, energy management systems and associated equipment.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID-19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine predictive & preventive maintenance on Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) equipment and systems throughout the facilities.
• Perform renovations and install new HVAC/R systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning HVAC/R equipment and systems.
• Maintain HVAC/R inventory.
• Make repairs, calibrate and functionally test equipment and systems.
• Recommend solutions for necessary corrective action.
