Job summary

Southcoast Health System, Inc. seeks an experienced HVAC Mechanic at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, MA.

You will perform routine preventive maintenance on HVAC/R systems, troubleshoot issues, install and renovate equipment, and help maintain critical hospital infrastructure ensuring comfort and safety for patients and staff. The role requires a high school diploma (Associates preferred), relevant licenses, and hospital or industrial experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required
• Associate degree in Refrigeration/AC preferred
• Massachusetts Refrigeration Technician License and Universal Refrigerant Recovery Certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform routine predictive & preventive maintenance on HVAC/R equipment and systems throughout the facilities.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning HVAC/R equipment and systems.
• Maintain HVAC/R inventory and keep records up to date.
• Make repairs, calibrate and test equipment and systems.
• Recommend solutions for necessary corrective action.

We are searching for a talented HVAC Mechanic

Hours: 40hrs

Shift: Day shift, 7:00am - 3:30pm; On call weekly a few weeks per year

Location: St. Luke's Hospital - New Bedford, MA

Responsibilities

Under the general supervision and direction of the Manager, Facilities or designee, perform routine predictive &preventive maintenance on Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) equipment and systems throughout the facilities. Perform renovations and install new HVAC/R systems and equipment. Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning HVAC/R equipment and systems. Maintain HVAC/R inventory. Make repairs, calibrate and functionally test equipment and systems. Recommend solutions for necessary corrective action.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in Refrigeration/Air Conditioning Heating preferred.
• Massachusetts Refrigeration Technician License and Universal Refrigerant Recovery Certification required.
• Related experience required to demonstrate ability to operate and maintain typical HVAC and Refrigeration Equipment Systems.
• Two (2) years experience in a hospital or industrial environment with knowledge in the maintenance and repair of centrifugal chillers, energy management systems and associated equipment.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.

Pay Range

USD $29.33 - USD $50.24 /Hr.

Rotation Schedule Requirement
