Job summary

MelroseWakefield Healthcare is seeking a per diem Maintenance Worker to perform general maintenance, preventive maintenance, repairs and safety checks across hospital facilities and grounds in the Medford area. The role requires work across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and related trades, following diagrams and manufacturers’ specifications, with safety and quality as top priorities.

Vocational training or on‑the‑job learning is expected, with opportunities to grow within the Tufts

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• On the job training in one or more building trades.
• Basic maintenance knowledge across trades.

Responsibilities

• Performs electrical repairs such as switches, ballasts, motors, and controls.
• Performs plumbing tasks such as drains, fixtures and cleaning.
• Performs minor carpentry like doors, shelving and locks.
• Repairs to plaster, brickwork or concrete; welds as needed.
• Provides service and preventive maintenance on hospital equipment and systems.
• Inspects and repairs safety equipment installed throughout the hospital.
