Job summary

Allina Health is seeking a Maintenance Engineer at United Hospital in Saint Paul, MN. This full-time night shift (8 hours) position supports a 24/7 facilities team to maintain mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and prevent unscheduled downtime.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of hospital maintenance experience, with HVAC, electrical, refrigeration and fire system knowledge. Licensing requirements include a boiler license; driving license required.

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of maintenance experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• High school diploma or technical training in engineering.
• 2 to 5 years of refrigeration cycle, electrical knowledge, welding, HVAC, pneumatic control experience and fire system knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe and effective environment through maintenance, repair and operation of mechanical, pneumatic and ventilating equipment.
• Service, repair, and maintain refrigeration and HVAC systems.
• Repair and install piping, fixtures, fittings for compressed gases, vacuum, steam, plumbing systems.
• Perform electrical replacements, repairs and maintenance of electrical equipment.
• Report hazards to prevent injury to staff, patients, and visitors.
• Maintain records of inspections and repairs to comply with regulatory requirements.
• May perform emergency repairs on life safety equipment and daily rounds in designated areas.
