Job summary

Alameda Health System is seeking an SLH Engineer Mechanic for San Leandro Hospital, internal-only position for current Alameda Health System employees. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing building and facilities systems, including electric, steam, water/sewage, and building operations systems.

Under general supervision, you will read blueprints, follow manuals, and ensure safety regulations are met.

Qualifications

Minimum two years full-time maintenance/repair experience on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and control systems.
Universal CFC certificate required by EPA for servicing refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain cooperative working relations with employees and the public.
Fabricate, install, and repair metal/sheet metal objects and perform general machine shop work using tools and measuring devices.
Read and interpret shop drawings, manuals and blueprints; follow safety regulations at all times.
Maintain records and report status of assignments, emergencies, and safety matters to supervisor.
Maintain inventory and order parts as assigned.
Operate and maintain boilers and related equipment per safety and regulatory requirements.
Operate and maintain HVAC, fire alarm, medical gas, and related systems per regulations.
Maintain electrical, electronic, alarm, and computer-controlled systems, emergency generators and components.
Train and direct the work of other maintenance personnel or contract workers as directed.
