Job summary

Alameda Health System is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to support hospital facilities. You will maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems across Alameda Hospital facilities, read blueprints, and ensure life safety equipment operates correctly.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid California driver’s license, and at least two years of related experience; Local 39 apprenticeship or HVAC certifications are preferred, with a CFC certificate obtainable

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years of related experience or training.
• CFC certificate to be obtained within six months.
• Preferred: Local 39 four-year apprenticeship or HVAC-related certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on HVAC and related systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and manuals.
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues under various conditions.
• Perform preventative maintenance and ensure compliance with safety codes.
• Keep routine records of inspections and repairs.
• Work day, evening, or night shifts as assigned; may respond to emergencies.
