Job summary

Mercyhealth Hospital and Medical Center Harvard, IL is seeking an Environmental Services Technician for the first shift. You will clean and sanitize patient rooms and common areas, adhere to infection prevention standards, and stock supplies while maintaining equipment and EVS closets.

You will coordinate with departments for special projects and use EPIC to track beds. The role requires a high school diploma (preferred) and prior cleaning experience is helpful.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Prior cleaning experience helpful.
• Follows infection prevention and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean assigned areas (furniture, tile, fixtures, windows, sinks, tubs, toilets, mirrors, showers).
• Perform high and low dusting, mop floors, clean elevators/stairs, dust door frames, vents, and vacuum carpet.
• Maintain EVS closet, EVS cart, and equipment in order; report safety hazards or repairs.
• Replenish paper, soap, hand sanitizer; manage supplies and equipment inventory.
• Follow proper chemical handling, dilution, PPE, and posting wet floor signs; assist with special cleaning projects.
• Use EPIC bed-tracking; coordinate with departments; respond to pager/phone within 5 minutes.
• Operate Xenex UV Light robot where available; ensure rooms prepared for next patient.
