Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking an Environmental Services team member to clean and sanitize patient areas, prep rooms, and assist with special projects. The role follows infection prevention standards, handles chemicals safely, and maintains supplies and equipment for a safe hospital environment.

The position is a 40-hour work week on first shift, with responsibilities including bed preparation and coordination of room turnover. Prior cleaning experience is helpful and high school completion is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Previous cleaning experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for thorough cleaning of assigned areas including furniture, tile, fixtures, windows, sinks and toilets.
• Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
• Observe infection prevention standards and knowledge of correct chemicals used for different pathogens.
• Maintains EVS closet, cart, and equipment in a neat and orderly manner; reports safety hazards or repairs.
• Replenishes paper, soap supplies, and hand sanitizer.
• Special project assignments and coordinating with affected departments for upcoming projects.
