Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking an Environmental Services (EVS) Associate in Rockford, IL to maintain a clean and safe hospital environment. You will clean patient rooms, common areas, and equipment, following infection prevention standards and chemical handling guidelines.

You will manage supplies, prepare rooms for new patients, and assist with bed tracking and room turnover using hospital systems. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and prior cleaning experience is helpful.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Previous cleaning experience helpful.
• Knowledge of infection prevention standards.

Responsibilities

• Clean patient rooms, common areas, equipment and assigned spaces.
• Follow infection prevention standards and safety procedures.
• Maintain EVS closet, cart and equipment in orderly condition.
• Replenish supplies and restock paper, soap and hand sanitizer.
• Operate cleaning equipment and identify safety hazards.
• Prepare rooms for patients and assist with bed management.
