Mercyhealth is seeking an Environmental Services Technician for the 1st shift in Rockford, IL. The role involves cleaning patient rooms and facility spaces, following infection prevention procedures, and restocking supplies throughout the hospital.

Responsibilities include maintaining EVS equipment, reporting hazards, handling chemicals safely, and supporting special projects as assigned. Experience in cleaning is preferred and a high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Previous cleaning experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Clean patient rooms, common areas, equipment, and assigned spaces.
• Follow infection prevention standards and proper chemical handling.
• Replenish supplies and maintain EVS closet and equipment.
• Move furniture and assist with special projects per department policy.
• Operate Xenex UV Light robot where available.
