Job summary

Butler Hospital is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to clean and service an assigned hospital area in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition. Adheres to Butler Hospital Service Standards and supports patient care areas with daily cleaning and maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities include waste removal, restroom disinfection, supply replenishment, and operation of cleaning equipment. Training is provided; valid driver’s license preferred for transport and on-site tasks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• On the job training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a cleaning cart in an orderly condition with stocked supplies.
• Removes waste including rubbish, cardboard, confidential paper, and hazardous material.
• Follows proper hazardous waste disposal procedures.
• Cleans and disinfects restrooms completely.
• Replenishes soap, toilet paper, hand sanitizer and towels.
• Disinfects offices, corridors, elevators, stairs, patient rooms daily.
• Performs wall/window washing, curtain changes, and floor care tasks.
• Operates wet vacuums, buffers, floor machines, scrubbers, steamers.
• Sweeps, mops, and vacuums floors; moves furniture and sets up rooms.
• Transports soiled/clean linens; changes mattresses; bed moves.
• Reports mechanical issues; provides training when needed.
• Demonstrates compassion in day-to-day interactions with patients and visitors.
