Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque is hiring a Housekeeper to maintain a clean and safe hospital environment. You will perform routine cleaning for patient and non-patient areas, follow cleaning procedures, and support nursing staff as needed.

The role requires prior janitorial experience, ability to follow hospital standards, and effective teamwork with health care professionals. Shifts are daytime, with a schedule of 7:00 am – 3:30 pm and alternating weekends/holidays.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Prior janitorial/cleaning experience (hospital setting desirable).
• Ability to communicate effectively with health care staff, patients and the public.

Responsibilities

• Clean patient rooms and discharge units to hospital standards.
• Clean offices/ancillary areas; assist with quality control audits.
• Identify and follow isolation cleaning procedures as required.
• Maintain clean carts, equipment, and storage areas.
• Restock soap, tissues, towels, and disposables as needed.
• Report facility repairs or equipment issues to the supervisor.
