Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain a clean and safe hospital environment. You will perform routine cleaning of patient and non-patient areas, follow infection control procedures, and support departments with housekeeping tasks as needed.

The role requires attention to detail, reliable teamwork, and the ability to work a 7:00 am – 3:30 pm schedule with weekend and holiday rotations. Prior hospital cleaning experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous janitorial and cleaning experience preferred.
• Some familiarity with hospital cleaning standards and procedures is desirable.
• Ability to handle housekeeping chemicals and equipment safely.
• Able to adapt to varying demands of patients, staff and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe hospital environment by following routine cleaning procedures.
• Clean patient and non-patient areas; perform surface cleaning, floor care and laundry-related tasks.
• Keep carts, equipment, and supply closets organized; report repairs as needed.
• Work 7:00 am–3:30 pm with every other weekend and holiday rotation.
