Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque is seeking a dedicated housekeeper to maintain a clean and safe environment within the hospital. You will follow routine cleaning procedures and assist with patient and non-patient areas, including surface cleaning, floor care, carpet cleaning, and moving equipment.

The role requires attention to hospital standards, ability to work evenings 12:30 pm to 9:00 pm, and occasional guidance from supervisors. Previous janitorial experience preferred; on-the-job training may be provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous janitorial/cleaning experience in a hospital setting desirable but not required as training is provided.
• Ability to follow infection control and hospital cleaning procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean patient rooms and discharge units according to standards.
• Perform surface cleaning, floor care, carpet cleaning, and move equipment as needed.
• Keep office/ancillary areas clean and organized; assist with quality audits.
• Report repairs or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly.
• Replenish supplies such as soap, tissues, towels and disposables.
