Job summary

MercyOne Health System in Dubuque is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain a clean and safe environment throughout the hospital. You will perform surface cleaning, floor care, and general housekeeping tasks in patient and non-patient areas, following established procedures.

Responsibilities include cleaning patient rooms, discharge units, and offices, replenishing supplies, and reporting maintenance needs.

Qualifications

• Previous janitorial and cleaning experience preferred.
• Must be able to become familiar with use and care of housekeeping chemicals and equipment.
• Must be able to work with and accept varying demands of the patient, public and other employees.
• Able to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with all members of the health care team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean patient rooms and discharge units to meet hospital standards.
• Empties trash and linen containers, high dusts, damp mops, cleans bathroom, makes beds, cleans surfaces.
• Maintain clean office/ancillary areas and assist with quality control audits.
• Identify and differentiate isolations and perform special isolation cleaning as required.
• Maintain a clean cart, equipment, and storage areas, and replenish supplies.
