Job summary

Qualifications

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and staff with professional conduct.
• Adheres to department policies and procedures to maintain a clean, sanitary environment.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains a clean, sanitary environment in assigned areas by following policies.
• Proper disposal of biohazards per EPA/OSHA; handle disposal of contaminants such as batteries, thermometers, and needles.
• Maintains equipment, clean carts, floor machines, supply closets for a professional hospital appearance.
• Complies with PPE requirements to protect against exposure to blood, chemicals, and other hazards.
• Follows hand hygiene policies.
• Completes carpet and hard surface flooring per procedures.
• Observes safety when pushing equipment; reports safety or facility issues.
• Uses wet floor signs to prevent slips and follows safety practices.
• Interacts with patients and visitors using scripting to provide courteous service.
• Assists with moving furniture, equipment, supplies, recycling per supervisor requests.
• Responds to pages or calls promptly; performs other duties as assigned.
