Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking an Environmental Services (EVS) Associate to maintain a high standard of housekeeping in a hospital setting. The role involves cleaning assigned areas, following schedules, and ensuring a sanitary, safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Responsibilities include proper biohazard disposal, equipment upkeep, adherence to PPE and hand hygiene policies, and assistive tasks like moving supplies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 6 months to 1 year of housekeeping or healthcare cleaning experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Establishes clean, sanitary, and safe environment in assigned areas following procedures (20%).
• Proper disposal of biohazards according to EPA/OSHA codes (20%).
• Maintains cleaning equipment and supply closets for a professional appearance (20%).
• Complies with PPE requirements to protect against exposure to hazardous substances (5%).
• Follows hand hygiene policy (5%).
• Performs carpet and hard floor maintenance per procedures (10%).
• Observes safety when moving equipment and reports issues (5%).
• Uses wet floor signs to prevent slips (5%).
• Communicates with patients and visitors with courtesy (5%).
• Assists with moving furniture, supplies, recycling as requested (5%).
• Responds to pages/calls promptly.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
