Job summary

WMCH Weirton Medical Center is seeking an Environmental Services Aide to perform routine cleaning and maintenance to keep patient areas, public spaces and offices safe and welcoming. You will clean floors, sanitize restrooms, and support waste handling across the hospital and medical office building.

The role requires attention to safety, ability to follow written tasks, and flexibility to work daytime shifts. 40 hours weekly, non-exempt position in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Floor care experience.
• Ability to read and follow written work assignments.

Responsibilities

• Cleans areas and equipment throughout hospital, Medical Office Building, Food Service and Cafeteria, including carpeting and hard surface flooring.
• Maintains and sanitizes public areas including rest rooms, employee lounges, and waste storage area.
• Maintains corridors by cleaning, stripping and waxing floors as assigned.
• Transports trash and confidential material to collection and holding areas by prescribed procedures.
• Gathers infectious, hazardous and recyclable materials and prepares material for proper processing.
• Utilizes chemicals/equipment appropriately to assure employee/patient safety as well as desired results.
• Moves furniture and equipment as assigned.
• Maintains work areas and equipment in clean, orderly and functional condition at all times.
• Responds to emergency situations such as fire alarms, water leaks, life flights and drills.
• Follows all safety procedures and policies.
• May be cross trained in other areas.
