Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in environmental services, housekeeping, custodial work, or hospital facility maintenance.
• Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, and floor care techniques.
• Ability to safely handle biohazardous and infectious waste per infection control standards.
• Familiarity with equipment cleaning, maintenance, and proper usage.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow cleaning schedules.
• Knowledge of hospital policies, regulatory standards, and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs floor care tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, waxing, and shampooing.
• Collects, removes, and disposes of waste following policies and guidelines.
• Handles soiled linens and replaces with clean bags.
• Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms, restrooms, halls, offices, and common areas.
• Responds to spills and contamination cleanups with proper disinfection.
• Moves furniture and equipment as needed for cleaning or relocation.
• Monitors supply usage and ensures safe storage and usage.
• Communicates maintenance and repair needs to supervisor for timely resolution.
• Maintains accurate cleaning logs and completes task reports.
