Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in environmental services, housekeeping, custodial work, or hospital facility maintenance.
• Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, and floor care techniques.
• Ability to safely handle biohazardous and infectious waste in compliance with infection control standards.
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment, maintenance, and proper usage.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow cleaning schedules effectively.
• Knowledge of hospital policies, regulatory standards, and safety procedures for environmental services.

Responsibilities

• Performs floor care tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, waxing, and shampooing surfaces.
• Collects, removes, and properly disposes of waste following hospital policies and guidelines.
• Handles and processes soiled linens, replacing them with clean bags.
• Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas.
• Responds to spills and contamination cleanups with proper disinfection and safety practices.
• Moves furniture and equipment as needed for cleaning and maintenance.
• Monitors cleaning supply usage and stores supplies safely.
• Communicates maintenance and repair needs to supervisors for timely resolution.
• Maintains accurate cleaning logs and reports completed tasks.
