Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Baltimore, MD is seeking a housekeeping associate under direct supervision to maintain sanitary, orderly hospital areas, following safety policies and supporting patient care.

You will assemble supplies, clean floors and surfaces, prep rooms for discharge, report maintenance needs, and log tasks per Interserv policy; candidates should work well in a team and greet patients and staff courteously.

Qualifications

• Ability to work well under time constraints.
• Ability to effectively function as a team member.
• Ability to courteously greet and exchange information with patients, visitors and staff while performing housekeeping tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assembles necessary cleaning supplies and equipment; loads utility cart and transports to assigned areas.
• Cleans assigned areas by performing a variety of housekeeping duties (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing, polishing).
• Prepares cleaning solutions following labeled instructions.
• Performs routine discharge room cleaning and remakes beds with fresh linen in prescribed manner.
• Notifies team leader of needed maintenance repairs in assigned area.
• Cleans and stores equipment regularly in porter closet or storage area.
• Logs on and off Interserv per GBMC policy and logs tasks accordingly.
