Qualifications

• Ability to courteously greet and exchange information with patients, visitors and staff while performing housekeeping tasks.
• Knowledge and understanding of patient and workforce safety as it relates to job duties.
• Demonstrates competency in meeting age-specific needs if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assembles necessary cleaning supplies and equipment; loads utility cart and transports to work areas.
• Cleans assigned areas by performing housekeeping duties (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing, polishing).
• Prepares cleaning solutions according to instructions on label.
• Performs routine discharge room cleaning and remakes beds with fresh linen as prescribed.
• Notifies team leader of needed maintenance repairs in assigned areas.
• Cleans and stores equipment regularly in porter closet or storage area.
• Logs on and off Interserv per GBMC policy.
