Qualifications

• Ability to work well under time constraints and to work effectively as a team member.
• Ability to courteously greet and exchange information with patients, visitors and staff while performing housekeeping tasks.
• Employee has knowledge and understanding of patient and workforce safety as it relates to job duties.
• Demonstrates competency in the delivery of care and applies the knowledge to meet age-specific needs if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assembles necessary cleaning supplies and equipment; loads utility cart and transports to works areas as directed.
• Cleans assigned areas by performing a variety of housekeeping duties (cleaning, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing, polishing).
• Prepares cleaning solutions according to label instructions.
• Performs routine discharge room cleaning and remakes beds with fresh linen in prescribed manner.
• Notifies team leader of maintenance repairs needed in assigned area.
• Cleans and stores equipment in porter closet or storage area.
• Logs on and off Interserv per GBMC policy.
• Logs tasks on Interserv per policy.
