Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking a detailed, team-focused housekeeper to maintain clean, safe areas within the hospital environment in Towson, MD. The role emphasizes efficient task completion and courteous interaction with patients, visitors and staff while upholding safety standards.

Under direct supervision, you will perform routine cleaning, equipment handling, and linen procedures, contributing to a safe and welcoming workplace.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work under time constraints and complete tasks efficiently.
• Ability to courteously greet and exchange information with patients, visitors and staff.
• Knowledge and understanding of patient and workplace safety related to the job duties.
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a housekeeping team.

Responsibilities

• Assemble necessary cleaning supplies and equipment; load cart and transport to work areas as instructed.
• Clean assigned areas by performing housekeeping duties: cleaning, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing, polishing.
• Prepare cleaning solutions according to labeled instructions.
• Perform routine discharge room cleaning and remake beds with fresh linen in prescribed manner.
• Notify team leader of needed maintenance repairs in assigned areas.
• Clean and store equipment regularly in porter closet or storage area; log tasks per policy.
