Job summary

Lexington Health is seeking an Environmental Services worker for PRN, AM shift (8:00AM - 4:30PM) in Columbia, SC. The role involves performing a full range of basic and specialty cleaning tasks to maintain a healthy, clean, safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.

Minimum qualifications indicate no formal education or experience required, with emphasis on ability to read guidelines, follow directions, and use hospital computer systems for time tracking and mandatory training.

• Must be able to read, understand, and carry out written guidelines, procedures and other material.

Responsibilities

• Performs full range cleaning tasks in assigned areas, including dusting, washing, mopping, vacuuming, carpet care and fixtures.
• Operates cleaning solutions and dispensing systems as needed.
• Assembles materials, supplies and equipment for tasks and stores items properly after use.
• Serves housekeeping duties in various hospital areas such as surgery, patient units and administrative spaces.
• Remains aware of area conditions and submits work orders when needed.
• Maintains attendance and punctuality; follows department protocol for clocking in/out.
• Participates in in-service education to improve cleaning knowledge and personal skills.
