Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 0-1 year related experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and how to apply safely.
• Working knowledge of cleaning tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning and sanitizing duties following schedules and infection-control guidelines.
• Maintains clean, safe, and sanitary patient and non-patient areas.
• Removes designated waste per established procedures.
• Cleans rooms, departments, common areas and other hospital spaces.
• Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
• Operates cleaning and floor-care equipment safely.
• Follows procedures for handling potentially contaminated materials.
• Attends department or unit meetings at least eight times per year.
