Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, IL. The role requires day shift, 32 hours per week (0.8 FTE), and includes 8 hours of EMS education teaching for fire departments.

The position leads the Emergency Management Program, hazmat operations, and regional disaster planning, with responsibilities spanning committee development, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• RN licensure is required.
• Experience coordinating emergency management or public health programs is preferred.
• Strong collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, coordinate and manage the Emergency Management Program activities.
• Develop and support Emergency Preparedness Committee and QA activities.
• Develop, monitor and evaluate HICS and NIMS implementation at AGSH.
• Lead hazmat program development, training and compliance monitoring.
• Attend county/state/national disaster planning meetings and coordinate exercises.
• Collaborate with EMS Coordinator on regional drills and mutual aid planning.
