Job summary

The Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency seeks a Donation Services Coordinator I–WOW to ensure timely on-site response and evaluation of potential organ donors, coordinating with hospital staff to maximize donation opportunities in the Lafayette region.

This non-exempt, full-time role emphasizes strong organization, communication, and weekend coverage with EMT-P certification or related medical degree. Travel to regional hospitals may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires strong organizational skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the flexibility to work odd hours.

Responsibilities

• Educate hospital staff on the importance of timely referral.
• Review EMR to assess medical history and donor suitability.
• Communicate donor status and plan of care with hospital staff (Donation Assessment Huddle).
• Identify early family support triggers and notify LOPA staff as needed.
• Maintain presence in assigned hospitals, building relationships and addressing needs.
• Access donor registry and print registry form when applicable.
