Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency is seeking an Organ Recovery Coordinator I to oversee the donation process from referral to recovery. You will work closely with hospitals, manage donor evaluations, and coordinate communications across teams.

The role requires clinical expertise in critical care settings and thorough documentation, with travel within the region as needed and adherence to UNOS protocols.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with one year experience in critical care, emergency medicine, or surgical setting.
• Physician’s Assistant with one year experience in critical care or emergency care setting.
• LPN with two years critical care or emergency care experience.
• Licensed Paramedic with two years critical care experience.
• Licensed Respiratory Therapist with two years critical care experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate organ donation process with hospitals and donor services.
• Rounding on site or by phone with hospital staff to obtain medical history and plans.
• Maintain communication with treating physicians to plan evaluation and donation steps.
• Document donor information accurately in the clinical system and ensure proper transfer.
• Lead coordination of donor care from referral through recovery and family support.
