Job summary

Mission Hospital in Asheville, part of Mission Health and an operating division of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Dispatch Operator to manage communications via switchboard, pagers, PA systems and internal radio.

The role requires quick, courteous response to calls, routing to the correct extension and adherence to emergency procedures across departments. CCTV/alarms monitoring and access control support complete the responsibilities.

Qualifications

• One year experience on Microsoft Windows and completion of Windows Competency testing.
• High School Diploma required.
• Preferred: AAPCO Certification in Verbal Defense and Influence (VDI)

Responsibilities

• Respond quickly and courteously to all incoming calls and route these calls to the proper extension.
• Respond to procedures for emergency codes and follow hospital protocols.
• Monitor CCTV and alarms for Mission Hospital and identified off-site facilities; provide access restriction services.
• Provide work orders for maintenance and access requests across departments (Maintenance, Shuttle, Courier, Valet, Material Management)
