Job summary

Compass Group, a leader in hospital dining services, seeks a Director of Dining Services to oversee Food and Nutrition operations in a 70 bed hospital. You will lead patient dining, retail cafe, and catering with focus on quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.

The role emphasizes strategic oversight, staff development, budgeting, and strong client relationships while maintaining HACCP and OSHA compliance. Experience in healthcare food service and leadership required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of direct food service operational management experience in healthcare.
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Food Service Management or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of inventory, purchasing, and food cost controls.
• Experience with P&L accountability or contract‑managed services.
• Strong leadership and ability to coach and develop teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across all levels.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related systems.
• ServSafe certification required or obtainable on hire.

Responsibilities

• Direct the overall direction and evaluation of the account.
• Hire, train, and manage associates; plan and assign work; appraise performance.
• Prepare and manage annual budget and reports (inventory, payroll, etc.).
• Oversee food and beverage preparation with adherence to safety and portion control.
• Ensure HACCP and OSHA compliance and maintain high service standards.
• Drive client relationships and continuous improvement initiatives.
