Job summary

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center on the Upper East Side is seeking experienced Cooks to join the Food & Nutrition team at our main campus. Under the guidance of our Executive Chef, you will craft dishes following standardized recipes to provide high-quality meals for patients, caregivers, visitors, and staff.

We offer a full-time role with PM shifts, weekends and holidays. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in fast-paced kitchens, multi-station experience, and a solid foundation in food

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in fast-paced culinary environments.
• Proficiency in cooking techniques and managing multiple stations.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, quality, and presentation.
• Ability to read recipes, basic math, stand, walk, and lift up to 30 lbs.
• Collaboration, communication, accountability, organization, and attention to detail.
• Food Handler’s Certificate or culinary training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of food items according to recipes, production sheets, and departmental standards.
• Manage multiple stations including grill, sauté, prep, salad, desserts, and more.
• Employ batch cooking techniques to ensure freshness, quality, and timely service.
• Maintain impeccable standards of food presentation and temperature control.
• Respond to last-minute and specialty orders with precision and efficiency.
• Operate kitchen equipment with care and promptly report any maintenance needs.
• Collaborate closely with supervisors and colleagues to ensure seamless workflow and exceptional culinary outcomes.
