Sodexo in Mount Vernon, IL is seeking a Cook to prepare and present hot and cold items across meal periods, following Sodexo’s culinary standards. You’ll work in a fast-paced kitchen ensuring safety, cleanliness, and quality while supporting a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0–2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsabilités

• Prepare, portion, cook, and present hot and cold food items per Sodexo standards.
• Follow basic recipes and product directions for preparation and serving.
• Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to plan production and requisition supplies and equipment.
• Significant walking or other mobility is required.
• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods (up to 8+ hours).
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push/pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions.
• Attend scheduled shifts on time with regularity.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.
