Job summary

Frederick Health Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Communications Representative - Switchboard to manage hospital-wide communications. You will handle a multi-line PBX, paging, and radio dispatch, ensuring reliable, confidential contact across departments and shifts.

The role requires strong verbal/written communication, diplomacy, and the ability to prioritize under stress. Evening/night coverage may be required; this is a full-time position in Frederick, MD.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience operating multi-line telephone systems and related communications equipment.
• Prefer high-volume call center experience.

Responsibilities

• Answers and directs incoming and outgoing telephone traffic.
• Operates the PBX console and related equipment with a clear, calm voice.
• Manages overhead paging system and speaker notifications.
• Maintains accurate records and adheres to confidentiality policies.
• Notifies departments and agencies per procedures and documents responses.
