Responsibilities

• Answer the telephone system promptly, courteously, and transfer calls to the appropriate department or patient room.
• Provide patient room information to callers and visitors while protecting confidentiality.
• Maintain information regarding hospital events, meetings, and general information.
• Monitor alarms and communicate emergency occurrences per policy; prepare reports as needed.
• Monitor and announce codes, fire alarms, and weather warnings.
• Perform overhead paging to disseminate information and locate individuals.
