Key duties include handling the switchboard, relaying information with confidentiality, coordinating hospital event details, and promptly communicating emergencies.

Qualifications

• Two years of switchboard experience in a hospital environment or similar setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Technical proficiency with computer systems and relevant tools.

Responsibilities

• Answer the telephone system promptly and transfer callers appropriately.
• Provide patient room information while protecting confidentiality.
• Maintain up-to-date information on hospital events and general information.
• Monitor alarms and communicate emergencies per policy; prepare occurrence reports.
• Monitor and announce codes, fire alarms, and weather warnings.
• Perform overhead paging to disseminate information and locate individuals.

As a Communications Professional, you will be a dynamic, essential voice, ensuring clear, consistent, and compelling communication across all channels to engage stakeholders and uphold our brand.

Every day, you will execute vital communication tasks, managing platforms, drafting content, and operating systems to ensure timely information dissemination. You'll also contribute to strategy by monitoring effectiveness and supporting campaigns to enhance messaging and reach.

To be successful in this role, you will possess exceptional written/verbal communication, technical proficiency with tools, meticulous attention to detail, adaptability, and proactivity, ensuring impactful connections with diverse audiences.

• Answer the telephone system console in a prompt, courteous and professional manner. Transfer callers to the appropriate department, individual, or patient room.
• Provide patient room information to callers and visitors in such a way as to respect patient confidentiality.
• Maintain information pertaining to hospital events, meetings and other general information.
• Monitor alarms (fire, weather, etc.) and communicate emergency occurrences in accordance with established policies. Prepare a report of occurrences as necessary.
• Monitor and announce codes, fire alarms and weather warnings.
• Perform overhead paging as required to impart information and locate individuals.

Job Requirements

Preferred

• Two (2) years switchboard experience in a hospital environment and entry level computer experience

Pay Range

$15.67 - $22.14 /hour
