Job summary

OhioHealth seeks a chaplain to provide pastoral counseling and spiritual support within our hospital setting. You will engage with patients, families, and staff, developing a hospital parish and participating in ecumenical care activities.

You will join a dedicated pastoral care team, performing rituals, liaising with faith leaders, and contributing to ethics discussions as needed. The role requires flexibility across shifts and settings.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of pastoral care and counseling in hospital settings.
• Two years ministry experience, at least one year in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct spiritual support to patients and families and document responses.
• Participate in on-call rotations including overnight or weekend shifts.
• Offer religious/spiritual rituals and liaise with faith leaders and community resources.
• Apply medical ethics knowledge; serve as ethics liaison and consultant.
• Deliver care across diverse hospital, outpatient, extended care, and home settings.
