Job summary

OhioHealth in Columbus, OH seeks a Staff Chaplain to provide pastoral counseling and spiritual support to patients, families and staff in a hospital setting. The chaplain participates in interprofessional teams, on-call rotations, and supports worship experiences.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in theological education (ACPE) with ordination documentation and four units of Clinical Pastoral Education; certification eligibility is preferred.

Qualifications

• Interfaith pastoral care experience preferred
• Strong ethics and professional conduct
• Excellent communication and collaboration across disciplines

Responsibilities

• Provide direct pastoral care to patients and families as requested.
• Participate in on-call rotations (including nights/weekends).
• Attend patient care conferences and interprofessional team meetings.
• Offer spiritual rituals and non-pharmacological interventions.
• Address ethics concerns and provide consultations.
• Provide care across diverse hospital settings (inpatient, outpatient, home).
• Contribute to pastoral education and mentoring within the department.
