Job summary

The Ohio State University Hospital seeks a Chaplain to provide spiritual and pastoral care to patients, families, and staff. You will assess needs, offer crisis support, and document outcomes in medical records while collaborating with the health care team.

Additionally, you will educate staff about chaplaincy services, contribute to the CPE program, and mentor chaplain residents and interns in the department.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree in theology or equivalent preferred.
• Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) and current endorsement for chaplaincy required or expected within 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual/pastoral care to patients, families, and staff in assigned clinical areas.
• Offer crisis support and spiritual care interventions and document in the medical record.
• Educate staff about spiritual/pastoral care and department services; mentor chaplain residents and interns.
