Job summary

CBRE, Inc. is seeking a Lead Sr Building Engineer for a mission-critical hospital campus in Waco, TX. You will lead the operational backbone of building systems, driving safety, performance, and reliability across facilities.

In this hands-on leadership role, you will direct maintenance workflows, manage safety inspections, and coordinate with patients, staff, and contractors to ensure optimal environmental conditions and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of job-related experience; combination of experience and education will be considered in lieu of a diploma.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage workflows, and make independent decisions in a high-pressure environment.
• Must meet physical requirements: stooping, standing, climbing, lifting 50 lbs or more.
• Solving problems with standard and innovative solutions having broad business impact.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily maintenance workflows and act as escalation point for the engineering team.
• Perform hands-on maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, and facility infrastructure as needed.
• Lead preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment life and reduce downtime.
• Monitor BAS to optimize energy use and troubleshoot system anomalies.
• Oversee third-party contractors and audit work for quality and compliance.
• Respond to facility emergencies and diagnose issues rapidly with effective solutions.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, life safety codes, and safety protocols.
