Responsibilities

• Greet patients and family members with a smile and pleasant voice.
• Answers all incoming calls promptly and identify self and hospital name.
• Directs patients and guests to appropriate area.
• Reviews census to have knowledge of patient's location.
• Verifies and registers vendors per policy.
• Reviews all codes regularly and be ready to call codes as directed or per policy.
• Pages/beeps as per policy, including but not limited to providers on call.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
