Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Boiler Operator / Stationary Engineer to operate and maintain boilers and related utilities for a hospital environment in Bedford, TX. The role requires strong technical knowledge, safety discipline, and the ability to respond quickly to alarms and emergencies.

Responsibilities include monitoring boiler systems, performing regular maintenance, and coordinating with central plant operations to ensure uninterrupted steam and energy services for patient care and lifesafety

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Experience operating boilers, preferably in hospital/healthcare.
• Strong knowledge of steam systems and boiler safety devices.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain boilers and utility equipment.
• Take readings of pressures, temperatures, fuel usage, water chemistry.
• Respond to alarms and emergencies to protect lifesafety systems.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on boiler plant equipment.
• Coordinate boiler operation with chillers, HVAC, and domestic hot water systems.
• Test water and maintain boiler chemistry.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform or assist repairs.
• Follow safety protocols (lockout/tagout, confined space).
• Read gauges and facility documents to guide operations.
• Document readings and maintenance activities in logs/computerized systems.
• Communicate statuses with Engineering and Facilities teams.
• Maintain clean, safe boiler room and central plant areas.
• Support facility maintenance tasks related to boilers and steam systems.
• Work rotating shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call.
