Job summary

Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL is seeking a Boiler Operator/Maintenance Technician III to perform advanced maintenance on hospital systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing and life-safety equipment. This full-time role supports emergency response, preventive maintenance, and facility projects while coordinating with staff and contractors to minimize disruption to patient care.

Shift: Days. Location: Riverview Regional Medical Center – Gadsden, AL.

Qualifications

Must troubleshoot, read schematics and/or blueprints.
Valid state driver’s license.
Certified and/or licensed in a healthcare engineering trade (Steam boiler, HVAC, etc.).
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience with boiler and steam systems.
Five years of experience in an acute healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, medical gas, and other systems.
Respond promptly to emergency repair requests to restore hospital operations without impacting patient care.
Inspect and test critical safety systems to ensure functionality and compliance.
Preventative maintenance during regular inspections to prevent breakdowns.
Support hospital renovation and construction projects coordinating with contractors.
